چکیده

The Internet is experiencing a change in paradigm: Once determined by text-based applications, currently, various types of audio-visual content already adopt the major part of the bandwidth. Audio-visual applications and multimedia data impose individual demands on reliability and delivery time, which is not sufficiently covered by available transport protocols. In addition, a more efficient use of network resources such as link bandwidth or the spatial distribution of network routes is essential. This paper evolves the Predictable Reliability under Predictable Delay (PRPD) principle, which is an approach to fit the transport layer parameterization to the requirements of audiovisual applications. The transport parameters are obtained by analytical parameter design including the Gilbert-Elliot channel model. However, not only the application’s constraints but also the underlying network conditions are highly heterogeneous in the unmanaged Internet. We found that deploying our coding scheme on link-level leads to reasonable benefit compared to the commonly used end-to-end protocols. We propose a distributed algorithm for link-individual parameter optimization modeled via the Multiple Choice Knapsack Problem (MCKP).

Effectiveness of "direct" stenting without balloon predilatation (from the Multilink Tetra Randomised European Direct Stent Study [TRENDS]).

The purpose of the TRENDS trial was to assess the safety, efficacy, and cost effectiveness of a no-predilatation ("direct") stenting strategy in the treatment of de novo native coronary artery lesions using the Multilink Tetra stent system. In this multicenter, prospective clinical trial, 1,000 patients were randomized (1:1) to receive a Multilink Tetra stent with or without balloon predilatati...

Model-free Regulation of Multi-link Smart Materials Robots

In this paper, model-free controllers for multilink smart materials robots are presented. The approach allows controller design in the absence of a system model which is complex and difficult to obtain for multilink smart materials robots, and provides additional degrees of freedom in feedback control design. Simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness of the presented approach.

Extraction of model parameters for reactive solute transport

In the present study, tried to examine the reactive solute relationships for transport and degradation processes through the rockfill media. By applying the analytical solution of reactive transport, the 1st to 3rd theoretical temporal moments have been extracted then, by using two methods of curve fitting and temporal moment matching, the coefficients of dispersion and degradation have been ex...

On the singular perturbation approach to trajectory control of a multilink manipulator with flexible links and joints

The singular perturbation approach has been shown to be successful in controlling both exible link manipulators and exible joint manipulators. In this paper, the technique is extended to control both link and joint exibility of a multilink manipulator simultaneously while a desired trajectory is being tracked. A comprehensive, closed-form, Euler–Lagrange, assumed-mode model of a multilink...
